STRATEGY brings together standardisation bodies, policy makers, technology suppliers and first responders from several EU countries who will collaborate over three years to improve the interoperability of crisis management solutions both within and between countries
Motivation
Crisis management often involves a number of organisations and authorities, each with distinct organisational set ups and decision-making processes. These differences in infrastructure and approach can result in poor disaster response, for example, extended response times, incompatibility of technical systems, conflicting strategies and confusion regarding the chain of command.
Impact
The STRATEGY project aims to improve the interoperability of systems, tools and operational procedures in the crisis management domain. This will be accomplished by developing a Pan-European pre-standardisation framework that will be validated and tested in simulated disaster scenarios with first responders.
